Looking for a new home

Thu Sep 3, 2009, 2:22 PM
The time has come to jump ship to the next ..erm.. ship. As I search for the seemingly impossible combination of creative flatmates in a nice area in central London I wonder if any like minded deviantart peoples should by chance be looking for a new flatmate. Worth a shot! :)

Motive Night

Fri Apr 17, 2009, 1:18 AM
Next Motive night coming this Monday (20th April) at The Reliance, Old Street.

Motive is for anyone who has an idea and is motivated enough to bring it to completion (or at least start). At the moment it includes a blog and a monthly meet-up looking for people of similar mind to talk about interesting projects they’ve seen, have or want to collaborate on.

info:

* 7:30 PM – Nag Vladermersky - LIAF

We’re going to start the night off with a presentation from Nag Vladermersky; Director of the London International Animation Festival (www.liaf.org.uk). Nag is going to be talking through this year’s festival, and might even give us a sneak preview of this year’s awards (if we’re really good).

* 8:30 PM – Show and Tell

Members can use this time to show and talk through any interesting projects they are working on right now. Anything goes really. Please email me at contact@motive.org.uk if you’d like to show anything.

Spaceman project- Louis du Mont
Louis is going to show some clips and talk about a really cool little 3D animation he’s working on at the moment. I really love it, and thought people might want to take a peak.

* 9:00 PM - Matt Jones and Michael ‘Mac’ McMahon - Hawk

The night is going to be topped off with a talk from Matt Jones and Michael ‘Mac’ McMahon of 1122 Productions. The guys are going to be speaking about a short film they’ve just finished (/www.hawkthemovie.com/). As you can see from the clips and production diaries on the website, the journey they’ve had in bringing this completion has been truly mammoth. Their grit and determination is inspiring to all short film makers.

RSVP at [link] to get you name down.

Snow!!

Mon Feb 2, 2009, 1:54 AM
Yay for snow. A time for everyone to take life a little less seriously, mainly because everyone's doing there "snow walk", a light footed, extra careful walk in order to not fall arse over tit.

Sweet deviantart have added categories, that's so damn cool as I think some galleries are a little misleading (like mine) as sometimes people have multiple disciplines but sometimes only focus on one for a period of time, filling up the first page of their gallery with only one of their disciplines but now with the categories it's much more apparent the variety of thing people produce. Thanks deviantart :)

Anyway as I'm here I'll share some cool news I got recently. I've never really won anything before, other than the odd game of rock paper sissors (Always start with sissors!!!), but was filtering through my email the other day like "One pill to make you more of a man", "Congratulation, you have bank error in your favour" etc and I nearly missed this one: "Winning entry in the 3D World/CGSociety '100 Greatest 3D films' poll" Yep that's right! I bloody won the first prize! What are the odds? Prize includes an ATI fireGL 7300 graphics card and a set of Ballistic Books!

Hope everyone have a cool new years etc!

Bit of text for a newspaper prop

Thu Oct 11, 2007, 6:02 AM
Recent studies show that the act of inhaling air then, in turn, exhaling said air improves endurance and stamina infinitely. It's been shown that air has been proven to exist and, although many may disagree, contains trace amounts of a gas named "oxygen" named after the term "oxymoron" for its contradictory nature toward scientific evidence. It has also been recognised that the spherical object used in football and indeed named a football also contains this air substance, coincidence? I think not. Where it was originally thought that the ball played more of a passive role in the game of football recent evidence brings to light the possibility that the ball itself controls the players on the pitch, after all if you take the word "football", remove the word "foot" and add the word "brain", what do you get? That's right: "Brainball" - A superior being with intricate strategising power! The brainball theory has been put under much scrutiny with little evidence of actual intelligence due to the lack of any response from said ball, leaving physicists and biologists with only one possible conclusion. The brainballs intelligence is so far beyond our own that it is able to cloak its abilities and appear just like an inanimate object.
